Shipshape IT offers unlimited data backup to multiple offsite locations, as well as locally. This service is multiplatform, backing up Windows, Mac, and Linux machines seamlessly across locations. What’s more, there are no data storage limits. This service protects an organization’s IT assets, including servers, workstations and laptops—basically any machine with an Internet connection.

Because each client’s needs are unique, this service is completely customizable. But by default, we keep daily data for three weeks, weekly data for three months, and monthly data for the duration of a client’s contract. We can even back up hourly, depending on a client’s needs. We also retain data deleted locally unless otherwise requested. This approach safeguards against undiscovered file damage that can occur from corruption or viruses. These default retention policies are easily modified in the event our clients' preference and regulatory or risk management policy necessitates doing so.

Redundant Data Backup requires sufficient Internet connection to accommodate the desired backup. It’s web-based and supports multiple users and security levels within an organization. This service—and the peace of mind that comes with it—is provided to all Comprehensive IT Support - Critical MaaSSM clients. It’s also available as a stand-alone service.

In emergency situations, this virtualized infrastructure allows clients to resume operating with confidence.

A disaster or significant infrastructure failure occurs at a client facility. Shipshape IT uses stored hard disk images of critical servers and workstations, supplemented by daily redundant-site backups, to create virtual instances of affected systems in the Shipshape IT high-performance cloud computing environment. Client can access their systems and continue operations from anywhere with an Internet connection. Operations are transitioned back to the client facility then the situation is resolved.

1 Outside email is sent. 2 Message is routed to Shipshape IT security servers for analysis. 3 Shipshape IT analyzes the message in order to remove spam, viruses, harmful embedded links or other malware. 4 The message is processed according to client defined policies (black lists, white lists, content and attachement filtering). 5 The message is forwarded to the client email system, or is discarded or quarantined as appropriate. All processes are logged.

1 Shipshape IT detects that the client's email system is off-line or unavailable. 2 Shipshape IT alerts the client and activates the email continuity system. Inbound messages are processed and held at Shipshape IT. 3 End-users can access the Shipshape IT web portal to send and receive email messages until the client email system is restored. 4 After the client email system is restored, messages processed via the web portal are intelligently synchronized back to the client's systems and normal mail flow resumes.

Documentation is yet another area where Shipshape IT and our clients’ interests are aligned. The more current and detailed the documentation, the better we can serve you. We accomplish this goal via a paradigm shift in how our clients obtain and use documentation. Most manufacturers of technology hardware and software enable their products with management tools that facilitate the automated collection of detailed information on those systems. There are many, and some common and familiar systems include Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), Cisco Discovery Protocol (CDP), and Microsoft’s Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI).

Such systems are commonly known and deployed in enterprise class networks. However, Shipshape IT feels this same real-time view is also valuable to small and medium sized business. Accordingly, our portal integrates many of these tools so that our clients can easily access visual displays of their systems inventory and status. Furthermore, it is possible for clients to drill down into specific systems to see additional data such as systems specifications, serial numbers and maintenance/warranty information. As systems are added and removed, the web-based inventory and associated data adjusts automatically and in real-time.

Further, we maintain a unique, wiki-like collaborative documentation portal that tracks everything from core component configurations to standard operating procedures to system status. Our staff and yours both have the ability to review and contribute to your documentation, which can be commented on by any authorized user. Email alerts advise authorized personnel of changes and updates, if desired. A flexible, scalable structure allows us to capture almost any type of data, from text to graphics to PDF files. Customizable controls track when and by whom a change is made, while also retaining prior versions. Real Time Documentation is indexed and searchable, enabling authorized personnel to receive timely and accurate data.

These prospective contingencies are determined shortly after initial engagement and are subject to client’s needs, proximity to hot-spots, cellular access and alternative Internet providers.
