Travis Woodruff

Vice President of Technical Services

Travis Woodruff serves as Vice President of Technical Services, and joined Shipshape IT in the fall of 2015. As a child born into a military family in Washington DC, Travis spent time in New York and Germany as a teen, before finishing High School in Montgomery County, Maryland where he now resides with his wife of more than twenty-five years and his three children. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics from Salisbury University and a Master’s Degree in Adult Education from Florida International University (FIU).

Travis began his IT career in the early 90’s developing one of the first websites for FIU, before moving on to Georgetown University in the mid 90’s. Ultimately, he found his way into the Managed Services Industry working first as an independent Contractor and then later for Dataprise, one the nation’s largest Managed Service Providers, where he spent 9 years moving quickly from a Network Engineer into management and ultimately serving in several Senior Management roles during his tenure.

Immediately prior to joining Shipshape IT, Travis served as the Chief Information Officer for the DC Department of Behavioral Health, where he assisted in the procurement and development of the practice management system for all DC Mental Health Agencies, while working with Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital to address concerns identified by the Department of Justice years earlier, ultimately assisting in the removal of federal oversight of the facility after nearly ten years of control.

Travis spends much of his free time coaching youth soccer. He serves as the Varsity Girls Soccer Coach of Wheaton High School in addition to being a coach for the Potomac Soccer Association.
